We’re beginning our Thursday with areas of dense fog in southeastern Minnesota. A dense fog advisory runs until 8 a.m. in parts of southeastern Minnesota, including the Rochester area.

The average Twin Cities high temperature is 84 degrees this time of year. Metro area highs will reach the mid-80s on THursday. Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have highs in the 80s, but north-central and northeastern Minnesota will see mainly 70s:

Rain chances

Scattered showers and thunderstorms could move into western and northern Minnesota anytime from mid to late Thursday afternoon. Rain chances will then spread into the remainder of Minnesota and western Wisconsin Thursday evening.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the potential rain pattern from noon Thursday to 2 am. Friday:
