Seasonable temperatures Friday with reduced air quality; hot weekend ahead

Enjoy a more seasonable day Friday before the heat builds in for the weekend. Highs will be in the 90s Saturday for much of central and western Minnesota.

Near normal Friday before the heat builds this weekend

Friday will bring high temperatures near normal after a cool Thursday and early morning Friday, but temperatures several degrees above normal are likely. Highs will range from the upper 70s in northeast Minnesota to the upper 80s in northwest Minnesota. The heat is building in from the west.

Air quality is still expected to be in the unhealthy for sensitive groups category occasionally for portions of Minnesota through Friday. An air quality alert remains through 11 p.m. Friday but is expected to improve some this afternoon.
