Get ready for more hot and humid air. Monday will be relatively pleasant still but Tuesday and Wednesday will see potentially excessive heat.
Relatively pleasant still Sunday night into Monday
We’ll see a mix of clouds and clear skies Sunday night with lows dropping into the 60s south to 50s north.
There will be quite the south to north contrast in temperatures Monday as the heat moves north. Highs will be in just the 60s in far northern Minnesota to low 90s in far southern Minnesota. Heat index values in far southern Minnesota will already reach into the 90s and low 100s late Monday afternoon.
There will be more clouds and even a few showers or a thunderstorm in northern Minnesota, ahead of the warm front.

Excessive heat potential midweek
There will continue to be a temperature contrast Tuesday as places north of the warm front in northern Minnesota remain in a mix of clouds and sun with highs in mainly the 70s, but much of central and southern Minnesota will surge into the 90s with dew points into the 70s.
The heat index will top triple digits for many southern Minnesota locations both Tuesday and Wednesday.
There’s an excessive heat warning in southwest Minnesota and a watch through Thursday for much of southern Minnesota.
The heat will break by the end of the week with perhaps a few showers and thunderstorms possible Friday, but most moisture this week will be confined to northern locations, ahead of the warm front.
