Excessive heat grips southern Minnesota again Wednesday. Temperatures start to cool Thursday into the weekend.
100+ heat index again Wednesday
Wednesday will be hot again with temperatures well into the 90s across southern Minnesota. This comes after a record-breaking hot day Tuesday. The high in the Twin Cities was 98 degrees, breaking a 52 year old record for the date. It was also the hottest August day in 22 years.

The heat index will once again be in the triple digits across much of southern Minnesota.

Temperatures will start to cool Thursday into the weekend. By Saturday highs will be in the 70s to low 80s statewide.
