Much warmer air returns Thursday ahead of a cool front that will spark showers and some thunder to the west. The chance for rain moves to eastern Minnesota overnight into Friday.
Warmer and breezy Thursday ahead of cool front which could spawn thunder
After a chilly couple of days, Thursday will be much warmer. Highs will be into the low 80s across southern Minnesota with low 70s north.

It become breezy Thursday afternoon as high pressure moves east, allowing south winds to kick back in ahead of a cool front. That front will be the focus of the next chance of some showers and thunder in western Minnesota late Thursday and into southeast Minnesota Friday.

Behind the front it will be slightly cooler Friday with more clouds. We could also see some wildfire smoke come in behind the front’s wake in western Minnesota. The weekend will be quiet and mainly dry with sunshine. Highs will be in the 70s south to 60s north.
