Tuesday will be even warmer than Monday with highs well into the 70s and 80s for most of the state. Some places in far western Minnesota could even hit 90.
Warm temps; potentially soggy weekend
Tuesday should top out near 80 in the Twin Cities with some places in far southwest/west central Minnesota getting close to 90. Northeastern Minnesota will remain cooler. These readings are 10 to 15 degrees above normal.
Wednesday will see widespread 80s across southern Minnesota again. Those high temperatures are average for July rather than the second half of September.
The first of potentially several chances of rain develops to the west late Wednesday and spreads northeast Thursday.
It’s looking possible that we’ll see a soggy weekend as a slowly moving upper low stalls over the Upper Midwest. The models vary greatly still in rainfall amounts but there’s the chance of some significant amounts.
