Mild Sunday temps; dry in most areas

Moderate air quality Sunday morning

It’s a bright Sunday morning across most of Minnesota.

Some people may notice a bit of a smoky scent in the air this morning. According to the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, portions of central Minnesota and the Twin Cities metro area will have moderate air quality today:

As winds pick up this afternoon, some of the fine particles causing the moderate air quality are expected to disperse.

Clouds spread northeastward

Southwestern Minnesota is seeing an increase in their cloud cover this morning, and clouds will spread northeastward Sunday afternoon.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential cloud cover expansion from noon to 6 p.m. today:

Metro area cloud cover is expected to increase toward mid and late afternoon.

Rain chances Sunday evening

Some patchy rain showers could spread into southwestern Minnesota and parts of south-central Minnesota Sunday evening. NOAA’s North American Mesoscale forecast model shows the potential precipitation pattern from noon to 11 p.m. Sunday:

Sunday highs

The average Twin Cities high temperature is 41 degrees on Nov. 19. Metro area highs are forecast to reach the mid 50s Sunday afternoon.

Sunday highs will be in the 50s across roughly the southern half of Minnesota, with mainly 40s in the north:

Some spots along the Red River Valley in northwestern Minnesota will top 50 degrees.
