Travel weather will be quiet but temperatures will take a dive after a milder day Wednesday. Thanksgiving will be cold and that persists into early next week.
Briefly milder Wednesday
Enjoy some sunshine Wednesday and milder conditions, at least briefly. Clouds will increase from north to south through the day.
Highs Wednesday will range from the mid-50s in parts of southwestern Minnesota to just mid-30s in northwestern Minnesota.
Cold air arrives for Thanksgiving, sticks around
A cold front will be making its way across the state through the afternoon and arriving to the Twin Cities and eastern Minnesota by Wednesday evening. Winds will increase behind the front.

Behind the front, temperatures Wednesday night will drop into the teens across northern Minnesota and into the 20s south.
Wind chill values early Thursday morning will be subzero across northern Minnesota and in the teens south.
Thanksgiving won’t warm a whole lot. We’ll see sunshine and dry weather but highs will only be in the low 20s north to low 30s south.
Thursday night will bring the coldest temperatures yet for many locations. The Twin Cities will likely see its first official low in the teens. This comes nine days later than normal. Typically, November yields seven nights colder than 20 degrees in the Twin Cities, but we haven’t had any yet.
It will remain chilly into next week. The six to 10-day outlook from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Prediction Center shows below normal-temperatures continuing for the central and eastern United States.
