Pleasant temps the next few days; update on our next rain chance

No big cold stretches in sight

It’s great when pleasant weather occurs on a weekend day.

We’ll have plenty of sunshine Sunday afternoon. Much of the southern half of Minnesota and areas along the Red River Valley in northwestern Minnesota will top out in the lower 60s. Mainly 50s are expected elsewhere in Minnesota and in western Wisconsin.

Low temps late Sunday night and early Monday will be mainly in the 30s:

Tuesday high temps will be in the 40s in most of the northern third of Minnesota, with mainly 50s elsewhere:

Some spots in southeastern Minnesota will top 60 degrees Tuesday afternoon.

Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to be in the upper 50s on Wednesday, followed by lower 60s Thursday then upper 50s Friday. Metro area highs could be in the lower 60s next weekend.

The NWS Climate Prediction Center shows a tendency for above-normal temperatures in Minnesota and Wisconsin from the end of April through the first few days of May:

Rain chances

Scattered showers could move into northwestern Minnesota Monday morning. Scattered showers are possible anywhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin Monday afternoon and evening. An isolated thunderstorm is also possible.

There will also be a chance of scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm Tuesday afternoon.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from noon Monday to 6 p.m. Tuesday:

Forecast models show another chance of scattered showers and an isolated thunderstorm Thursday afternoon. There will be a good chance of some showers on Friday, with a few thunderstorms also possible.
