The weekend snowfall has blanketed the state with a fresh layer of powder. Below is a screenshot showing the current snow depth as of February 9th.

Temperatures tonight will drop into the single digits above and below zero with light westerly winds. 

There’s a chance for light snow in the forecast on Monday as a cold front throws a Hail Mary, hoping to bring 1-2 inches of snow to the southwestern portions of the state.

There’s a fumble in the forecast with the arrival of our next shot of arctic air. As we tackle these frigid temperatures, be prepared to layer up by Tuesday morning when wind chills dive to 20 below in the Twin Cities and 30 to 40 below across western, central, and northern Minnesota.

Continued cold air will keep temperatures this week 10 to 20 degrees below average. We’ll be stuck in the single digits and teens, but don’t worry—by Friday, we’ll finally warm up into the 20s.
