We’re in for a cold week with below-normal temperatures and subzero nights. We’ll see some light snow in southern Minnesota Monday and Wednesday.
Cold week with some light snow chances
Below-normal temperatures will be the rule this week with the coldest temperatures coming Monday night and Tuesday night. We’ll see readings 10 to 15 degrees below normal Monday with highs mainly in the teens south and single digits north.

We’ll see some light snow for southern Minnesota develop Monday morning into the evening hours, mainly along Interstate 90. The southernmost counties of the state may see a coating to as much as 2 to 4 inches of snow in the southwest corner of the state.

There’s also a winter weather advisory for Rock, Nobles and Jackson counties in southwestern Minnesota throughout the day Monday.

Look for a very cold overnight Monday. Lows will be mostly in the teens below zero for southern Minnesota to 20s below zero in northern Minnesota.

Tuesday will be our coldest day of the week with highs struggling to get above zero in southern Minnesota and remaining below zero north and west.

We have another chance of light snow Wednesday for southern Minnesota. As much as 1 to 3 inches could be possible for portions of southeastern Minnesota.

Temperatures will warm up by Friday and we’re monitoring a potentially more significant system Friday into Saturday.
