Imagine dating and even getting engaged to someone — without ever seeing what they look like. That’s the “experiment” 32 singles from Minnesota signed on for in the new season of “Love Is Blind.”

Among the cast members is Yemi Ajagbe, a product sales manager and dancer for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Ajagbe vividly remembers the first time she heard someone’s voice in the pods, the comfy enclosed rooms where contestants speak to their dates through a wall.

“It almost felt like it was all-surrounding and all-consuming,” Ajagbe said. “That’s one of the biggest things that facilitated feeling like you’re making a real connection very well — it felt like that person was sitting right next to me.”

She also said that although she performs on a big stage regularly at Target Center for the Timberwolves, “Love Is Blind” was a different kind of vulnerability.

“I wasn’t representing a brand or an organization — I was representing myself.”

While she couldn’t reveal the outcome of the show for her, she did say the experience helped her become more open to connecting with people. 

“I didn’t know who could be behind that wall,” Ajagbe said. “So just being completely open-minded to who I encounter, being curious and meeting them with a warm embrace.”
