One man is dead and a woman is recovering from injuries after a shooting that took place on Friday morning at a Brooklyn Park apartment building.

The shooting was reported to police at 10:30 a.m. at Huntington Place apartments in the southern part of the city. Officers who responded to the incident said the scene was “chaotic;” they found two people with gunshot wounds.

One of them was a man, who was pronounced dead on scene. The other was a woman who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

“The only thing I can really say about that is the two are known to each other and have a significant relationship, which is why we’re calling it domestic in nature,” said Matt Rabe, Brooklyn Park police spokesperson.

Rabe confirmed on Sunday the woman was out of surgery and in stable condition. The incident remains under investigation.
