A cold front moving across the state will bring a chance for rain and snow showers through Friday night with minimal accumulations expected. Looking ahead, the weekend will feature bright sunshine and high pressure but temperatures will remain cooler than average.
Cold front for Friday night
Our latest system will bring a weaker cold front, leading to scattered rain and snow showers across the state. Light snow showers are expected in the cooler areas of northwestern and central Minnesota, while mostly rain will fall in the metro area and points to the south.
As the front pushes through Friday night, it will encounter dry air and gradually fizzle out during the overnight and early morning hours.

Chillier temperatures are expected, with lows dropping into the teens in the north, 20s in central areas, and some low 30s in the southeast.

Sun-filled but cool weekend
Canadian high pressure will begin to move south clearing out our cloud cover and providing ample sunshine through the weekend.

Temperatures will remain below average on Saturday, with highs reaching the low to mid-40s. Cooler 30s are expected in areas that received a fresh coating of snow.

On Sunday, we’ll briefly warm into the 40s and 50s before a blast of arctic air moves in, cooling us down for Monday. Highs at the start of the workweek will only reach the 30s and low 40s.

Warmer temperatures will make a comeback midweek, with 60s returning to the forecast by Wednesday and continuing into next weekend.
