Flood watches are posted for the southern half of Minnesota ahead of a round of storms that could bring 1-4 inches of rain

We have one more sunny day as high pressure moves east Tuesday. Temperatures warm the rest of the week, but we’ll have a few showers Wednesday and Thursday. 

Temperatures will start to climb Tuesday after a cold start. We’ll have lots of sunshine as cool high pressure begins to depart to the east. Highs will range from the low 50s in southwestern Minnesota to just around 30 degrees in the Arrowhead. 

A relatively weak disturbance moves in for Wednesday and Thursday, increasing cloud cover and bringing the chance of a few showers mixing with snow in northeastern Minnesota. 

Portions of northeastern Minnesota and the North Shore could see some snowfall accumulation Wednesday into Wednesday night.

As far as precipitation goes, this will be a fairly minor system compared to the last few soakers. Most of southern Minnesota will see under one-tenth of an inch and northeastern Minnesota will see under one-quarter inch.

Temperatures will warm Wednesday and Thursday despite the increased cloud cover. We’ll see highs mostly in the 50s in southern Minnesota and 40s north. Sunshine is back for Friday and Saturday and temperatures will continue to warm. 

Highs will be in the 70s by Sunday throughout southern Minnesota. There’s a slight chance of an isolated shower or two Sunday.
