Expect endless sunshine and warmer temps in the 70s, with 80-degree readings for the Red River Valley. This pleasant weather pattern will stick around into the workweek, bringing more sunny skies and mild conditions.
Warmer on Sunday
Sunday will kick off a long stretch of 70-degree temperatures, with the forecast calling for a high of 77 in the metro. If we reach above 75, it will mark the warmest day of the year so far. We've hit 75 twice already—once in mid-March and again in mid-April.

Areas in western Minnesota and the Red River Valley will see forecast highs in the 80s once again, while the North Shore will experience cooler temperatures in the 50s and 60s.

Visible satellite imagery from Sunday morning shows nearly clear skies, with barely a cloud in sight from the Southern Plains all the way to the Upper Midwest.

Mild lows are expected for Sunday night, with temperatures dipping into the upper 40s to low 50s under clear skies. However, northeastern Minnesota will experience cooler temperatures, with lows in the upper 30s and low 40s.

The week ahead promises above-average temperatures in the 70s, with the metro having a chance to reach the 80s on Tuesday. The graphic below illustrates the temperature anomalies for early May, with the red areas highlighting regions experiencing warmer-than-normal conditions.
