Frost developing with chilly temperatures
Frost is expected to develop Saturday night as chilly temperatures settle in. A frost advisory will be in effect from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. Sunday, with a freeze warning issued for northern Lake and Cook counties.

With clearing skies and calm winds, temperatures are set to dip into the low to mid-30s statewide, while the metro area will remain slightly warmer, ranging from the upper 30s to near 40 degrees.

Sunday will bring slightly warmer temperatures with scattered cloud cover. Highs are expected to reach the upper 50s to low 60s, while cooler 40s are likely along the lake. Winds will be lighter, coming from the east-northeast.

Below-average temperatures continue to trend into early next week. A surface low pressure system will move to our south, bringing rain chances to mainly southern Minnesota. A majority of the showers will remain south of Interstate 94 at this time.

We'll see a return to seasonal temperatures in the 70s by Thursday and into Friday.
