Whether you're grilling in the backyard, hitting the lake or attending one of the many Memorial Day ceremonies, the weather this weekend is expected to be fully in sync with your outdoor plans.
Long weekend looks good
Minnesota will see high temperatures in the 60s and 70s with calm winds, low humidity and plenty of sunshine, making for a welcome start to summer. A sprawling high-pressure system will keep any unwanted weather to our south during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend.
There’s a small chance of very isolated, light showers on Saturday, but nothing that should disrupt your outdoor plans. Expect just a few sprinkles amid plenty of sunshine throughout the day.
A slow warmup to slightly below seasonal temperatures is expected over the long weekend, with highs gradually climbing into the 60s and low 70s on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Trending toward warm and dry
After our recent cool spell and soaking rains, forecast models are now trending toward warm and dry conditions as we approach the start of meteorological summer.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center’s six to 10-day outlook indicates above-average temperatures and below-average precipitation.
