An upper level low continues to spin clouds and spotty showers across the region Wednesday. That system will move out Thursday allowing for brighter skies and much warmer temperatures.
Another day of lingering clouds and showers before summer warmth moves in
Rainfall amounts have been pretty light in the last 24 hours. Most areas have measured less than a quarter-inch of rainfall since early Tuesday.

We have another unsettled day Wednesday as a cool, upper level low lingers across the region. Once again, we’ll see peeks of sunshine and some hit-and-miss showers with isolated thunder. There should be fewer showers than Tuesday. There will still be a lingering isolated shower or two Thursday.

Additional rainfall will be pretty light Wednesday. Up to one-tenth to two tenths of an inch could fall in southeast Minnesota with lighter amounts north and west.

Like Tuesday, temperatures will be warmest in northern Minnesota — in the low 70s — while southern Minnesota will see temperatures mostly in the upper 60s.

Sunshine should increase for us Thursday and that will help to warm temperatures up much more, mostly into the 70s.

By Friday and the weekend, we’ll be well into the 80s, about 10 or more degrees above normal. We’ll also have abundant sunshine and mostly dry weather. We also have a shot at 90 degrees by Sunday or Monday for much of the state.

Saturday may yield one or two isolated storms, but the best chance of thunder will develop likely next week as the pattern shifts again.
