It’ll be cooler and less humid Tuesday. Unsettled weather lingers through Friday with more rain and storm chances. Heat and humidity build in for the weekend.
A little cooler Tuesday; unsettled weather, heat ahead
Tuesday will be cooler than Monday by several degrees, especially across southern Minnesota. We’ll also see somewhat less humid air, though dew points will still be in the sticky low 60s across southern Minnesota.
There will still be some lingering instability Tuesday with a few afternoon and evening storms in far southern Minnesota and isolated, pop-up showers possible in mainly the northern half of Minnesota in the afternoon.
Wednesday will again see highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees. There’s a chance of showers Wednesday, too, mainly in southeastern Minnesota and in the far north.
Thursday will see chances mostly northeast then Thursday night into Friday we’ll see the next best widespread chance of showers and thunder before drying out for the weekend. I think the Twin Cities area will stay mainly dry Tuesday through Thursday.
We look to be mostly dry, hot and humid for the weekend as a heat dome from the west builds in to the central Plains. Highs could be near 90 degrees for southern Minnesota both Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the heat, dew points will once again increase Friday into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday will not only see highs in the 90s for southern Minnesota but also with very steamy dew points in the 70s.
