Enjoy comfortable dew points in the 50s Tuesday. Muggy air and significant rainfall return Wednesday and Thursday. We could be very warm again by the weekend.
Comfortable Tuesday, soaking rains Wednesday
It’ll be a comfortable and quiet day Tuesday. We’ll see a mix of clouds and sun south with brighter skies north. High temperatures will be mostly in the 70s.

It won’t be completely dry for the entire state Tuesday. There will be a few lingering showers in far southern Minnesota and a few more could pop up in the afternoon, mainly south of the Twin Cities.

While Tuesday will be comfortable, with most of the state seeing dew points in the 50s, those dew points increase again Tuesday night into Wednesday as the same front that moved through Monday lifts back north.

The next round of significant moisture is heading toward Minnesota Tuesday night into Wednesday. Muggy air and the frontal boundary that moved through Monday return, bringing waves of showers and thunderstorms into Thursday.

Rainfall will be significant across southern Minnesota in the 1- to 4-inch range with locally higher amounts likely.

There is a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for some isolated severe storms in southern Minnesota Wednesday, but the main threat with this next round of weather will be heavy rainfall.

Temperatures could be heating up again as we head into the weekend, but there will also be a couple of chances of thunderstorms too, especially Saturday north, and statewide Saturday night and Sunday.
