Hopefully you enjoyed a quiet, comfortable Tuesday. Muggy air and rain, thunder develop early Wednesday morning and we’ll have waves of moisture into Thursday.
Rain, thunder develop Wednesday into Thursday
After a beautiful Tuesday for most, clouds will increase overnight Tuesday night ahead of our next round of moisture. Overnight lows will be in the 60s for southern Minnesota with 50s and even some upper 40s northeast.
The first of multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms develops late Tuesday night into early Wednesday across central and southern Minnesota into Thursday. We should get some breaks late Wednesday and by Thursday afternoon.
Rainfall will be significant across southern Minnesota. Up to 1 to 4 inches of rainfall is possible, with locally higher amounts.
There’s also a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) of a couple of isolated severe storms in southern Minnesota (from the Twin Cities and points south Wednesday.
We should see the return of mostly dry weather and sunshine Friday with highs back in the 80s and 70s. The weekend will bring very warm and humid conditions with some spotty thunderstorm chances.
