Dew points start to increase Wednesday through Friday. We’ll see the chances for showers and thunder increase, especially late Friday and Saturday.
Rising dew points bring rain, thunder chances
A couple of separate disturbances are touching off some spotty showers and thunder in northern and southwest Minnesota early Wednesday. We’ll see the chance of isolated storms pop up later this afternoon and evening as well, with quite a bit of sun in between.

There’s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) that one or two thundershowers could produce some large hail if they develop.

It will be another very warm day with highs well into the 80s for all but the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Thursday will be another partly cloudy day with highs in the mid to upper 80s. Dew points will increase to near 70 degrees, making for a humid afternoon in central and southern Minnesota.

We’ll also have the risk of a couple isolated late day thunderstorms again, mainly in southeastern Minnesota Thursday afternoon and evening thanks to those higher dew points.

The steamy conditions persist through Friday and Saturday with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees with heat index values into the 90s.
An upper-level disturbance and slowly moving cool front will touch off storms late Friday in northwestern Minnesota and statewide Friday night and late Saturday.

At this point only a marginal (1 of 5) risk is forecast for severe weather late Friday:
