Seasonable temperatures and dry weather continue Wednesday and most of Thursday for eastern Minnesota. Widespread thunder chances increase Thursday night into Friday.
Another dry, pleasant day Wednesday ahead of widespread storms Thursday night
It’ll be another beautiful day Wednesday with just a few clouds and seasonable temperatures. Dew points will also remain relatively comfortable, ranging from the low 60s to 50s. Afternoon highs will be in the mid-80s for southern Minnesota to upper 70s northeast.

The first round of some spotty storms could develop Wednesday night for western Minnesota. There’s a slight chance some of that reaches the Twin Cities by early morning with some additional isolated to spotty chances later in the day Thursday.

Other than a few showers and storms, we’ll have partly cloudy skies Thursday and similar temperatures with most of the state at least a couple degrees warmer, especially in western Minnesota where some places will warm into the upper 80s to even near 90 degrees.

Dew points will also be on the rise Thursday after the relative comfort of the last couple of days. By Thursday evening and Friday, muggy air will bring dew points back into the 60s to near 70 degrees for some.

That moisture will be fuel for the main-event system moving in for Thursday night into Friday and Friday night that will bring the next widespread chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms.

As for potential severe weather, the risk looks marginal (level 1 of 5) each of the next couple of days for most of Minnesota.
Widespread severe weather looks unlikely due to the timing of activity except in northwestern Minnesota where a slight risk (level 2 of 5) is forecast for late Thursday into Thursday night.

The system looks to move out Friday night, making way for a lovely Saturday and Sunday with dry weather for most and a drop again in dew points.
