More storms possible late Friday followed by a gorgeous Saturday
We’ll have the risk of an isolated or spotty thunderstorm during the day Friday, but the main action will develop in western or central Minnesota Friday afternoon ahead of an advancing cool front. The storms will track east into the evening and overnight hours Friday night.

There’s a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) that some isolated storms could turn severe. The main threat would be some large hail or isolated severe wind gusts.

An air quality alert is in effect Friday during the day for northern Minnesota where air quality could reach the unhealthy or very unhealthy categories.

Highs Friday will be steamy — well into the 80s — but with dew points in the 60s to near 70 degrees at times.

The cool front will push out the muggy air early Saturday. Dew points will fall into the 50s by Saturday afternoon along with cooler air.

Highs Saturday will be in the 70s to near 80 degrees for most with lots of afternoon sunshine.

Sunday will have more sunshine but temperatures will be warmer and into the 80s for most of the state. Next week will start hot with highs in the upper 80s, close to 90 degrees for Monday and Tuesday, but the next round of unsettled and cooler weather moves in for midweek.
