Our slightly stubborn cloud cover will continue to clear Saturday night, with overnight temperatures bringing a slight chill to the air. An Air Quality Alert remains in effect for northern Minnesota through Monday morning due to wildfire smoke. Expect more sunshine and comfortable temperatures on Sunday.
Cool and clear tonight
Skies will become mostly clear tonight as high pressure continues to settle in. Temperatures will dip into the low to mid-50s across northern and central Minnesota, with upper 50s to low 60s expected in the south.

Sunday will be brighter than Saturday, with the cloud deck clearing out completely. Expect plenty of sunshine as temperatures warm into the mid to upper 70s, with a few spots reaching the low 80s across the state.

An air quality alert remains in effect for the northern third of the state until 9 a.m. Monday, with conditions expected to reach purple (very unhealthy), red (unhealthy), and orange (unhealthy for sensitive groups) levels.

The upcoming work week will bring a stormy “ring of fire” weather pattern as a large heat dome builds over the Central Plains. Dew points will rise late Monday into Tuesday, becoming noticeably more humid with readings returning to the 70s.

Showers and thunderstorms are possible every day in the forecast, but timing remains uncertain as forecast models struggle to pinpoint these types of systems. We should have a clearer picture of storm timing and intensity 24 to 48 hours in advance.
