Photos: Minnesota’s old school buildings stir memories of a small-town past

A former schoolhouse
The Hewitt Public School in Hewitt was built of concrete in 1911 and is notable for its many and varied windows. The central Minnesota school served all grades until 1952 when it merged with nearby Bertha. It then housed select grades until closing in 1980. It serves now as a community center and museum.
