Dew points will drop a bit over the next 24 hours but the really dry, cool air moves in this weekend. Temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler than normal by Sunday.
Mild overnight and continued above normal temps until the weekend
It’ll be a mild, muggy overnight. Dew points will drop some but areas of fog will once again be possible in portions of the state due to the light winds, mostly clear skies and lingering muggy air. Overnight lows will range from the 50s northeast to the upper 60s in the Twin Cities.
Wednesday will bring partly cloudy skies after some morning fog, thanks got high pressure. Highs will be mostly in the low 80s again across the state, which is above normal by at least a couple of degrees.
A potent cool front will move through Thursday night into early Friday touching off some scattered showers and a few thunderstorms. Rainfall will likely be light to modest, but it will bring some significantly cooler air. Highs by Sunday will be just in the 60s for most of the state.
We’ll also see much drier air with dew points in the 40s to low 50s. The combination of cool temps and dry air will make it feel like early fall. In fact, Sunday’s forecast high temperatures are average for late September!
