State Senate District 47 special primary election

Candidates in the Minnesota State Senate District 47 special primary election include Ethan Cha and Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger. They are competing for the DFL nomination. Dwight Dorau is running unopposed for the Republican spot on the ballot.

District 47 was formerly held by Sen. Nicole Mitchell, who resigned in July after she was convicted on two felony burglary charges for breaking into her stepmother’s home. Mitchell, a Democrat, was in her first term in the Senate. The district includes parts of Washington and Ramsey counties.
