Cooler than normal conditions through midweek

The Twin Cities saw a low of 51-degrees early Monday, making it the coolest temperature reading since May 26. Of course it was much cooler north. Hibbing, International Falls, Embarrass and Eveleth all reached lows of 36-degrees.
We’ll see another cool day with afternoon highs just around 70 in the Twin Cities with most of the state remaining in the 60s yet again. Those readings are 5 to 15 degrees cooler than normal.

It’ll be another chilly overnight with clear skies and light winds allowing temps to dip back into the 40s for most again. There will be pockets of temperatures in the 30s once again in northeast Minnesota with the warmest readings in the urban core of the Twin Cities, near 50-degrees.

Tuesday will yield more sunshine and temperatures will be a few degrees warmer, though still several degrees cooler than normal. Most of central and southern Minnesota should manage afternoon highs in the low to even middle 70s.

Temperatures will gradually warm back up to normal levels by the end of the week and weekend into next week. Below are forecast averaged temperature anomalies (departure from normal) for the weekend into next week:

There are some chances of rain for northern Minnesota Wednesday and potentially a few isolated showers Friday and Saturday in the state.
