Saturday’s weather will be shaped by a passing weak cold front, bringing gusty winds and lower humidity levels. These conditions will raise fire weather concerns, particularly across northern Minnesota.

A barely noticeable weak cold front has moved through the state, leaving behind breezy winds and falling relative humidity values.

Northwest winds will persist through early Saturday afternoon, bringing occasional gusts of 20 to 25 mph. 

Relative humidity levels will drop below 30% on Saturday, prompting fire weather concerns primarily across northern Minnesota. Fortunately, winds are expected to diminish by Saturday evening, helping to reduce the fire risk.

Weekend temperatures will remain above average, with highs in the low 70s across most of the state on Saturday and mid to upper 60s expected in northeastern Minnesota.

Sunday will be warmer, with highs reaching the upper 70s to low 80s in western areas.

Weather models indicate a prolonged dry period accompanied by continued late-summer warmth. Climate trends suggest that above-average temperatures will persist through early October.
