Heavy snow and difficult travel expected again, heaviest snow in southern Minnesota

Temperatures will average 15 to 20 degrees above normal this week. Highs will be in the 80s across southern Minnesota all week and the pattern remains dry until the weekend.

Temperatures well above normal all week 

The highly anomalous warmth continues this week after a beautiful weekend. Afternoon highs Monday will be well into the 80s across central, southern and western Minnesota. Some southwestern Minnesota locations could reach an incredible 90 degrees. 

The Twin Cities region will be mostly sunny with filtered sun through afternoon high clouds. 

It’ll be a mild overnight Monday night under partly cloudy skies. Overnight lows will be in the 60s and 50s when they should be in the 40s and 30s this time of year.

It’s more of the same for the rest of the week with plenty of hazy sun occasionally filtered through high clouds and highs in the 80s across southern Minnesota through Friday and potentially Saturday too, despite October beginning on Wednesday. 

The pattern remains dry until perhaps the weekend when a few showers and thunderstorms may make their way into the state, but rainfall and timing is difficult to pinpoint at right now. 

There are some hints at perhaps more typical fall-like temperatures next week, but  temperatures this week will average 15 to 20 degrees above normal.
