A St. Paul Police Department employee has been fired after being charged with one count of felony drug possession. 

Jamond Glass, 34, was working as a community engagement specialist with the police department. His employment was terminated on Tuesday, according to a department spokesperson.

According to charges filed this week, the Minneapolis Airport Police contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office on Friday and said they had intercepted a package containing a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, addressed to a home in Woodbury. Deputies surveilled the package until it was delivered to the house, and Glass allegedly brought it inside. 

Deputies carried out a search warrant at the home and found nearly ten pounds of methamphetamine, plus fentanyl and cocaine. They also found several guns and ammunition. 

Glass was arrested. He was released from jail Monday after posting a $50,000 bond. 

The spokesperson for the St. Paul Police Department said Glass was hired in March to serve as a liaison between residents and police. They declined to comment further, citing the ongoing investigation.
