It’ll be another cold but sunny day Wednesday. Temperatures will remain cold with highs mostly in the single digits again.
Cold and breezy Wednesday but temps warm this weekend
It’ll be another cold and below normal day, but once again we should see quite a bit of sunshine. Afternoon highs will be mostly in the single digits again with some pockets of northwest Minnesota remaining below zero and southwest Minnesota reaching the teens. Wind chills will be below zero all day long thanks to a northwest breeze at around 10 mph.
Overnight, temperatures will drop back below zero with even teens below zero in northern Minnesota under mainly clear skies.
Thursday and Friday will be very similar with mostly single digit highs and sunshine with subzero overnights. We finally turn a corner over the weekend with highs in the teens by Saturday and into the 20s by Sunday.
We’ll also see the next chance of snow on Sunday as the jet stream moves back into our region. It doesn’t looks like a big storm but most of Minnesota could see a decent, fresh coating of snow.
Temperatures will climb through next week. NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center forecasts higher odds of warmer than normal temperatures for next week into next weekend.
In fact, some forecast models now push temps up above freezing, maybe even into the 40s in the February 6-9 period.
