This weekend will bring a classic taste of early March in Minnesota — from snow showers and a cooler Saturday to a warm surge that could bring the first 60-degree reading of the year in the Twin Cities, along with the return of daylight saving time on Sunday.
Snowflakes to start Saturday
Early risers Saturday morning may see a quick burst of snow with light accumulations mainly on grassy surfaces. This late-week system should wrap up by midday Saturday, although a few lingering flurries could continue across eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin.

Colder air moves in behind the system Saturday. High temperatures will likely remain in the 30s and 40s, with a brisk northwest wind making it feel cooler. Snow should taper off by midday Saturday, though clouds may linger into the afternoon before gradually clearing later in the day.

First shot at 60 for the Twin Cities
The chill will not last long. By Sunday, a strong push of warm air will surge north across the region. Temperatures will rebound quickly, climbing into the 50s and possibly the 60s. It could mark the Twin Cities’ first 60-degree reading since mid-November.
Sunday also marks the start of daylight saving time. Clocks move forward one hour early Sunday morning, shifting both sunrise and sunset later. While we lose an hour of sleep, the payoff comes in the evening with noticeably longer daylight and a sunset past 7 p.m.
