Crews begin work on Split Rock Lighthouse to better withstand harsh Lake Superior conditions

Split Rock Lighthouse, shown here in 2008, when crews erected scaffolding to replace bricks and the windows around the light at the top of the structure. The lighthouse will look similar this spring, when crews again put up scaffolding to replace bricks and install sensors to monitor humidity in the historic lighthouse.
