The Minnesota Twins on Friday will host their first home game of the season at Target Field in Minneapolis.
The home opener will greet fans with a happy hour — offering snacks, hot dogs, or a beer, if you’re of age, for $2 before the first pitch. Then, regular prices resume and the cost of going to the game can quickly add up.
MPR News host Clay Masters spoke with Alex Jacquez, chief of policy and advocacy at the nonprofit think tank Groundwork Collaborative, about the national trend of rising costs at sporting events. Jacquez also served on the White House Economic Council during the Biden administration.
