More seasonable temperatures return for the weekend.
Chilly midweek with potential frost
We’ll have a cool day Tuesday with a mix of clouds and sun. Highs will be in the low to mid-50s across southern Minnesota with highs just near 40 degrees in far northern Minnesota.

Winds will be breezy and from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph but not as windy as Monday.

A few spots in northern Minnesota are already seeing some flurries and light snow showers Tuesday morning. More instability-driven snow showers are likely to develop midday and afternoon in the northern third of the state.

Overnight, we’ll need to watch for the potential for frost again. Outside the Twin Cities metro area, many areas will reach the low 30s with 20s to the north.

The Twin Cities proper will be in the mid-30s, but many suburbs will be in the 32 to 34 degrees range overnight into early Wednesday.

You can rinse and repeat for Wednesday’s and Thursday’s weather. Highs will be similar, in the 50s and 40s with overnights in the 30s and 20s.

A relatively minor clipper system will move through Thursday, touching off a few spotty showers and again on Saturday. Otherwise the forecast is fairly dry.
Thursday will already be warmer with low 60s returning to southern Minnesota, despite the clouds and a stray shower.

Temperatures do look to warm to more-seasonable readings again by the weekend. We should see weekend highs in the 60s, if not near 70 degrees in southern Minnesota.
Most forecast models have us in the 70s much of next week and most also have us in the 80s by the end of next week or the following weekend, May 16-17. So just hang on!
