Authorities say the driver of a pickup truck died early Monday after crashing into a Metro Transit bus in south Minneapolis. The crash caused the bus to strike a house.
The driver of the bus was injured. There were no passengers aboard.
Metro Transit said the crash happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the corner of 38th Street and 10th Avenue South. The bus was traveling east on 38th Street when it was hit by the southbound truck. Authorities said the preliminary investigation indicates the truck was traveling at a high rate of speed and went through a stop sign.
“As a result of the collision, the bus struck the front of a house on the northeast corner of the intersection,” Metro Transit reported.
