Did you and the family get some planting done after the traditional early-start-date of Mother’s Day? Time to get those blankets out overnight, for into Wednesday morning. Some isolated freezing fog is actually possible in the far north and near Lake Superior. That could very briefly lead to slippery roads right around dawn Wednesday. 

Below are one look at morning lows across the state. We’re also trying out some experimental graphics here, for a single spot; we call that a point forecast, and in this case we’re looking at you, Bemidji!

Now we’re moving right along to the middle of the week. We’re a shade more optimistic for sunshine in patches, and this is the Day One for a slow and subtle warming trend heading into Memorial Day Weekend. 

For the Twin Cities, that means more sunshine, as well, with highs in the lower-to-middle 60s Wednesday. Then it’s upper 60s, then we’re hoping for perhaps near 70 degrees on Friday. 

Friday to Friday night is the more unsettled part of the weekend. Whether you’re going up north to the Boundary Waters, heading to visit the family in the southwest, the best chance of rain as of this writing is Friday night into Saturday morning. There’s also going to be a few isolated-to-scattered showers and storms during the day on Saturday but we’re not looking at an all day deal, nor washout. 

The better news for Monday is that we’re looking dry and mild, perfect for any outdoor plans.
