A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for northern Minnesota until 8 p.m. Wednesday with the potential for very large hail, damaging wind gusts and isolated tornadoes.
The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Northern Minnesota
* Effective this Wednesday afternoon and evening from 1250 PM until 800 PM CDT.
* Primary threats include... Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible Scattered damaging wind gusts to 65 mph possible A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...Thunderstorm development is expected to increase along and ahead of a cold front moving through northern Minnesota this afternoon. Moderate to strong buoyancy and moderate shear will support the potential for strong updrafts capable of large to isolated very large hail. A few strong gusts are possible as well.
