One man died and four others were injured in a shooting Sunday night in Minneapolis — the second mass shooting in the city in less than 24 hours.
Police said they are not aware of any connection between the two.
According to police, Sunday night’s shooting happened at about 8:20 p.m. outside a business on the 1800 block of Nicollet Avenue.
Officers responding to a report of gunfire found four men injured at the scene — including a 28-year-old man who later died at a hospital.

A fifth injured man later arrived at a hospital.
Police have not released further information on the circumstances of the gunfire and said there were no arrests in the case as of Monday morning. The name of the man who died has not been released.
Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called the weekend’s gun violence “intolerable” and said the city would work to hold the perpetrators accountable.
“This is a stark reminder that keeping our streets safe requires every tool available,” Frey said in a statement posted on social media. He called for the perpetrators to be arrested and prosecuted, along with continued police hiring and the use of technologies including drones and ShotSpotter.
The shooting on Nicollet Avenue followed a shooting early Sunday morning outside an Uptown nightclub that left nine people injured. Minneapolis police said all of the people wounded in that shooting were expected to survive.
