Thursday will still be a nice, mostly comfortable day. Dew points and temperatures will be increasing some the next couple days which will lead to at least isolated thunder.

Becoming warmer and more muggy with isolated thunder

We have another nice day on the way Thursday. Look for lots of sun, though some high clouds will drift in. Afternoon highs will be a bit warmer with more low and middle 80s popping up on the Minnesota temperature map. 

There will be some isolated thunder this afternoon in northern Minnesota. This is ahead of a weak front that will be pushing muggy air back in ahead of it. Dew points will increase into the 60s to near 70 overnight Thursday into Friday. That front will touch off spotty storms along I-35 in eastern and southern Minnesota into western Wisconsin Friday. There is even a marginal (level 1 of 5) severe risk for eastern Minnesota into western Wisconsin. 

Behind the front, dew points will dip back into the 50s but it won’t last long. That front will be moving back and forth across the region over the weekend into early next week. Having that muggy air nearby and some upper level disturbances means the chance of some isolated or spotty thunder is possible in at least some part of the state on any given day. 

Highs this weekend will be seasonable, ranging from the low to mid-80s south to the 70s north. 

A better chance of more scattered showers and storms develops for Sunday night into Monday as a slightly more vigorous disturbance moves through the region. That system looks likely to affect mainly central and southern Minnesota. 

Rainfall totals will not be terribly impressive, but will be highest in southern and southeast Minnesota into Monday.
