St. Paul's Pig's Eye Park encampment closed but housing needs remain

St. Paul officials have cleared out the Pig’s Eye Park homeless encampment, and that's having ripple effects. People living near other encampments are reporting that those camps have doubled in size, raising questions about the effectiveness of encampment closures.

MPR News host Clay Masters spoke with Louis Gagnon of Stop the Sweeps, a coalition of citizens who advocate for homeless people, about the encampment closures and how the city is attempting to help the people who call them home.
