It’ll feel like summer again today with warm, muggy conditions. A cool front will spawn some storms overnight followed by cooler air. We’re also watching for rain potential Monday.
Warm, muggy Friday with storms possible tonight followed by cooler air
It’ll be even warmer today with highs in the mid 80s for much of central and southern Minnesota, making it feel summer-like again.
Dew points will also creep up into the 60s today into tonight ahead of the next cool front making it feel pretty humid, especially by evening.
The cool front will touch off showers and thunderstorms in northwest Minnesota Friday evening which will then develop and spread eastward overnight. Forecast models differ on how far south that development occurs, such as in the Twin Cities metro.
There’s a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for some severe storms to develop this evening and overnight for a large portion of the state.
Behind the front it’ll be cooler but pleasant and close to normal Saturday. High will range from the 60s north to the mid 70s south.
We’re continuing to watch a system for early next week which could deliver plain old rain late Sunday into Monday. Forecast models have been trending south with the heaviest rainfall in recent runs.
