Our temperatures will take a sharp tumble Sunday night as clear skies and light winds set the stage for chilly night across the region.
Freeze and frost concerns Sunday night
High pressure will remain in control Sunday night, keeping skies clear to mostly clear across Minnesota. With very little wind and plenty of dry air in place, temperatures will drop quickly after sunset. Low temperatures will plummet to sub-freezing temperatures, especially for areas in the Arrowhead and north-central Minnesota.

A freeze warning and frost advisories will remain in effect through Monday morning for a large portion of northern Minnesota.

Farther south, temperatures will generally fall into the upper 30s to low 40s across the rest of the state. While most locations will stay above freezing, the combination of clear skies and light winds will allow frost to develop in rural and low-lying areas.

The good news is that this chilly air won't stick around for long. Once the sun comes up Monday morning, temperatures should begin climbing quickly, setting the stage for a much warmer stretch of weather ahead.
