After several days of gloomy, wet November weather and rainfall we desperately needed, it will be wrapping up on Thursday. Our multi-day rain event is coming to an end early Thursday morning as the area of low pressure responsible for the unsettled weather slowly moves east toward the Great Lakes.

A few lingering showers and areas of light rain will hang on Wednesday night into Thursday morning before precipitation gradually comes to an end. Unfortunately, the end of the rain doesn't mean an immediate return to sunshine. Thursday will remain mostly cloudy, breezy and chilly, with afternoon highs only reaching the 40s.

Northwest winds will be a big part of Thursday's forecast, with sustained winds around 15-25 mph.

Sunshine returns Friday; dry weather pattern ahead
The good news is that Thursday's lingering clouds and showers will be followed by a much quieter weather pattern. Clouds should gradually clear out Friday as drier air moves into the region from the northwest.
Temperatures will gradually rebound this weekend, with even warmer conditions expected early next week as a ridge of high pressure builds across the central United States. Highs could run 10-20 degrees above seasonal averages in the 50s and 60s.
