Some Twin Cities congregations have switched to so-called "eco-palms" for their palm sunday services. Congregations can buy palms from Latin American palm-growers who receive a higher wage for the leaves they harvest. The eco palm program also encourages a more sustainable way to grow the plants. He's spent time in villages in Mexico and Guatamala that rely on the palm trade.
