Senate Majority Leader Paul Gazelka, of Nisswa, and his fellow Republicans held a press conference on Thursday calling for reform around insulin prices.

Now, Republican and Democratic leaders need to see if there’s enough common ground for a special session. Gov. Tim Walz is willing to call one, but wants to talk about potential gun control measures as well.

Will the parties be able to come together for a special session? And what is Gazelka looking to accomplish in 2020?

MPR News host Angela Davis spoke with the Senate majority leader about the prospect of a special session and whether Republicans can win back the House next fall.
