The Minnesota Timberwolves launched their new season Wednesday night with a win. They looked good, beating the Houston Rockets 124-106.

There may have been a tad bit of pressure to play well because sitting courtside at the game was Marc Lore, one of the team's new owners. Lore, who was president and CEO of Walmart U.S. eCommerce, has a background in successful start-ups, and he loves sports.

A few years ago, he teamed up with baseball star and friend Alex Rodriguez in an attempt to buy the New York Mets baseball team. That didn't work, but this year the duo bought the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Minnesota Lynx.

Host Cathy Wurzer talked with Lore Wednesday, just after he arrived in town, and asked: When he could spend his fortune on anything, why a professional sports franchise?
